CALL FOR BOARD NOMINATIONS

The PPA Nominations Committee is requesting nominations for President-Elect and two (2) at-large Board positions that will begin April 2022. Please fill out and submit the form on or before November 15, 2021 (12:00 midnight eastern time). Please note: Oral or emailed nominations will not be accepted.

The PPA Board of Directors is made up of the five Executive Committee members and six at-Large directors. The Board meets virtually 10–11 times a year and one time in person (in conjunction with the Annual Meeting). Board members serve as volunteers without compensation. Please read the following position descriptions. Self-nominations are accepted.

Position Descriptions:

NOTE: To be eligible for election as President-elect or at-large Director position a nominee must be a member of PPA in good standing for two successive years immediately preceding the election. Additionally, the President-elect must have one full year of prior PPA Board service.

President-Elect:

To perform the duties of the President when requested to do so by the President.

  • To preside over meetings and discharge other duties of the President in the absence of or due to the unavailability of the President.

  • To prepare in writing such reports as may be called for by the President or the Board of Directors.

  • To appoint all committee chairs prior to the beginning of the term as President.

The President-elect will automatically become President of PPA at the end of the term:

  • The president shall be the chief elected officer and shall preside at all meetings of the membership and Board of Directors. The President shall represent the Organization as its official spokesperson and act in its name, subject to its declared policies.

  • The president is authorized to establish committees and to appoint committee chairs as needed to meet the Organization's goals and objectives, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors.

  • The President shall make a report of his or her administration at the annual meeting and shall make any recommendations deemed necessary.

Director-At-Large (3 year term)

The Board of Directors is the governing authority of PPA. Directors serve as trustees for members. The Board meets monthly to discuss the affairs of the organization, including but not limited to: developing and monitoring budgets, develop and review policies, approve position papers and create public awareness of the association.

The Fellows of the Pediatric Pharmacy Association (FPPA) Recognition Program serves the following purposes:

  1. to recognize excellence in pediatric pharmacy practice, and;

  2. to grant recognition and to promote public awareness of pharmacists who have distinguished themselves in pediatric pharmacy practice.
